TRAILER: House of the Dragon Season 2 Promises War

HBO has dropped two epic trailers simultaneously for House of the Dragon season 2. Both the green trailer and black trailer focus on a different family in the popular Game of Thrones spinoff.

The fantasy drama continues the story established in 2021’s well-received first season. It’s set nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and 172 years before Daenerys Targaryen arrived on the scene.

House of the Dragon season 2 pits Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) against Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke). Meanwhile, Matt Smith's Prince Daemon is at the centre of a ferocious Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.

Talking to The Times in 2022, co-creator and showrunner Ryan Condal revealed the time for spectacle is now. “You have to understand these people’s complexities before they’re thrown into war.”

“Series two will hit the rhythms people came to expect from the middle run of Game Of Thrones, but it will have been earned, and viewers will feel the tragedies because we put the work in.”

House of the Dragon season 2 is set to air on Max June 16. Watch the trailer below.
