Travis Barker Opens Up About His Unborn Baby's 'Life-Threatening' Situation

Travis Barker has broken his silence on wife Kourtney Kardashian's medical pregnancy emergency .

In a tweet from Wednesday, Sept. 6, the Blink-182 drummer wrote, "God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I'm so grateful went well. I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday."

His statement comes five days after Blink-182 announced on social media that Barker had experienced an "urgent family matter," which required for the band to postpone shows from their European and UK tour.

Barker's tweet was written around the same time that Kardashian issued a health update on Instagram. The Poosh founder revealed that she almost lost her baby, who required a life-saving surgery.

"I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life," she wrote. "I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this."

The 44-year-old added, "As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don't think anyone who hasn't been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant."

Kardashian—who already is mom to Mason, 13, Penelope, 11 and Reign, 8—confirmed her pregnancy in June at a Blink-182 concert by holding up a sign that read "Travis I'm Pregnant." Days later, the couple shared they're having a boy.
