‘I Tried the Viral Pickle Shake at Disney World So You Don’t Have To'
As a Disney World passholder, I’ve had my fair share of snacks at the theme parks, including the beloved giant pickle. It’s not only delicious and refreshing, but also easy to eat on-the-go as you make your rounds around the parks. With that said, Disney has decided to transform this fan-favorite treat into a limited-edition beverage—the pickle milkshake.
According to Disney, two of The Muppets, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker, explored with different flavors prior to Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival this year and came up with some out-of-this-world concoctions including the pickle shake concoction.
Since the introduction of the pickle milkshake at the opening day of Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival on July 27, there have been mixed reviews about this oddly-satisfying green drink with people saying that it’s either delicious or disgusting. Now, I’m not one to shy away from a challenge when it comes to trying new foods at the parks so I decided to head over to Epcot to try this viral pickle milkshake myself.

Where to Find Disney’s Limited Edition Pickle Shake
Guests can find the pickle milkshake at Epcot inside of the Brew-Wing Lab at The Odyssey. To find it, you walk in the direction towards the World Showcase and it’ll be on your left hand side towards Test Track. It’s clearly labeled so you’ll know once you stumble upon it.

How Long Will It Be Available?
As of now, the pickle milkshake is scheduled to be available at Epcot for the duration of the Food and Wine Festival (July 27 to November 18). It’s unknown whether or not this treat will stick around after the festival and into the new year.
How Much Does the Pickle Shake Cost?
The pickle milkshake costs $5.75. Other milkshakes on property cost anywhere between $9 (PB&J milkshake at 50s Prime Time Cafe) to $15 (the specialty shakes at Beaches and Cream.) Given the novelty and the size of the shake, I’d say it’s a good value and it’s large enough to share, especially since a few sips is all you really need.
What’s In the Pickle Shake?
While there’s no exact description available about what’s actually in the milkshake, it’s speculated to be a plain vanilla milkshake enhanced with food coloring and dill flavoring to bring it to life.
What are Others Saying About the Disney Pickle Shake
Now, the hype over the pickle milkshake is real, but is it actually any good? Influencers and Disney fans have taken it to social media to weigh-in.
“As a pickle lover, I will say I did not love it at all (but love that you can take the cup home.),” said Sarah Odien, family vlogger. “To me it was way too thick, almost like eggnog.”
Other creators, like Kristen Wright, said she “didn’t necessarily hate it” but “couldn’t take more than a few sips.”
That seems to be the overall consensus–it’s a one-and-done milkshake, cute for the gram, but not a repeat item.

My Honest Review of the Pickle Shake
To be fully honest, I wasn’t too enthusiastic about trying this drink. Although I like eating pickles, the thought of drinking a pickle-flavored beverage made me a bit queasy. However, I decided to hop on the bandwagon with everyone else in line and give it a try.
The line was only about five minutes long so it wasn’t too long of a wait and was prepared quickly. For starters, the pickle milkshake comes in a souvenir cup and is topped with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. It’s also served with a fun green and white straw to add to the fun. If there is one thing Disney always nails, it’s the attention to detail even when it comes to food and beverage options.
Upon my first sip, my initial thoughts were “this is interesting” and “I can’t tell if I love it or hate it.” In terms of flavor, it’s essentially creamy pickle juice. It has that salty/bitter taste that pickles are known for with the creamy and thick consistency of a milkshake. After a few more sips, I had enough as I started to feel nauseous.
Overall, it definitely wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but I don’t think I’d necessarily get it again. Luckily, it was only $5.75 so I didn’t feel like I completely wasted my money. I was able to get a cute cup from the festival and capture some great photos of the milkshake for Instagram.
Next time I head to Epcot, I’ll probably stick to some of my other favorites like the warm chocolate pudding cake from Ireland or the griddled cheese from Greece, but if you haven’t tried the milkshake, then I’d say it’s worth it because it’s not something you see everyday.
