Twitter Is TRASHING Prince Harry for Trying to Get Fortnite Banned
Prince Harry said popular video game Fornite "shouldn't be allowed," causing fans to lose it on Twitter.
Fans are accusing Harry of being patronizing and calling him out for hypocrisy.
Prince Harry has managed to get on the wrong side of Twitter (terrifying) thanks to comments he made about social media being more addictive than drugs. Oh, and thanks to his call to ban the popular video game Fortnite.
Harry made these comments during a royal visited to the the YMCA in London, where he met with mental health organizations working with teens and young adults. "Growing up in today’s world, social media is more addictive than drugs and alcohol," he said. "Yet it’s more dangerous because it’s normalized and there are no restrictions to it. We are in a mind-altering time."
Fair, though slightly ironic considering Harry literally *just* joined Instagram. But it's his Fortnite thoughts that really pissed people off:
"A game like Fortnite for instance may not be so good for children. Parents have got their hands up-they don’t know what to do about it. It’s like waiting for the damage to be done and kids turning up on your doorsteps and families being broken. That game shouldn’t be allowed. Where is the benefit having that game your household? It’s created to addict, an addiction to keep you in front of a computer for as long as possible. It’s so irresponsible."
So...how does Twitter feel about this? Not great. Some highlights that don't include angry obscenities (sigh, there were plenty of those) are below, but comments include "Stick to brutally shooting animals and let us continue to not harm anybody while playing #fortnite please" and "He is weeks from being a new dad and I find it patronizing to be honest."
TBH, Team Prince Harry forever, now and always. WBU?
