Um, Queen Elizabeth Released a Fragrance for Dogs With a Very Specific Smell
Queen Elizabeth is joining the endless list of celebrities who feel the need to create their own perfume. Only, um, her perfume is for dogs.
According to The Sun, via People, Her Majesty is releasing the Happy Hounds Dog Cologne (SCREAMING), which apparently smells like “coastal walks.” Naturally, it is made for a “freshly washed hound” and was crafted by an artisan perfume maker in Norfolk, who said, “Coastal Walks is a rich, musky scent with citrus notes of bergamot. It’s unisex so can be used on male and female dogs, and it’s really long-lasting. Dog cologne is getting more and more popular, particularly with people who like a bit of luxury in their lives and want to indulge their pets.”
You can pick up a bottle for £9.99 at the Sandringham Estate gift shop if you happen to find yourself there!
The Queen is obviously famous for loving dogs—specifically her fleet of corgis—so we probably shouldn’t be too surprised that she’s out here selling dog perfume for a freshly washed hound that smells like coastal walks with notes of bergamot.
Meanwhile, I’ll be here spraying myself with a bottle of ancient Cucumber Melon Body Splash from Bath & Body Works that I unearthed from 1998.
P.S. Sandringham also sells a Happy Hound Gift Box complete with a dog shampoo, an “embroidered tweed dog bone toy,” and “game bone treats” made with venison from the Sandringham Estate, if you want to pamper your pup.
