USC Will Not Let Lori Loughlin's Daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Withdraw

For weeks, reports have circulated that Lori Loughlin’s daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Giannulli had left the University of Southern California after Loughlin and their dad Mossimo Giannulli were indicted in the college admissions cheating case. But despite rumors the girls withdrew from the university, USC isn’t letting them do anything of the sort…or any of the other students whose parents were indicted in the scandal.

Us Weekly got a statement from the school that addresses the girls’ admission status: “USC has placed holds on the accounts of students who may be associated with the alleged admissions scheme,” the college said. “This prevents the students from registering for classes (until they have agreed to participate in the review of their case), withdrawing from the university, or acquiring transcripts while their cases are under review. Among many factors investigators could consider in reviewing each case are any developments in the criminal cases, including plea deals by parents. Following these case-by-case reviews, we will take the proper action related to each student’s status, up to revoking admission or expulsion.”

Us Weekly noted that although the girls haven’t been attending classes (either because they don’t need to, want to, or may be prevented from doing so), their absence may affect their academic standing.

When the girls' decision to no longer attend USC was first reported by TMZ about a month ago, the outlet cited their fear of "vicious bullying" as the reason the girls opted not to go back. In the days after that news broke, Entertainment Tonight ran a report detailing the very different way each girl felt about leaving USC. Olivia Jade, YouTube influencer, was mad she even had to go to the school in the first place: A source said Olivia is "really angry with her parents because she told them she did not want to go to college and she was pushed."

Her sister Isabella, meanwhile, was more sad to leave. Bella "was far more invested in college and would loved to have completed USC," ET's source said.

Isabella and Olivia's parents were indicted for allegedly paying $500,000 to make it appear the girls had been rowing team recruits to guarantee their admission to the college. Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli have not entered a guilty plea yet but should they do so, they reportedly face a two-year minimum jail sentence. That sentence may end up being much higher if they don't plead guilty and let a federal grand jury decide their case because additional charges will be added.
