'The Vampire Diaries' Actor and Wife Separate After 3 Years of Marriage
The couple officially separated after living apart for the last few months.
Paul Wesley, who starred as Stefan Salvatore in all eight seasons of The CW's hit series The Vampire Diaries, and his wife of three years, Ines de Ramon, have officially separated.
"The decision to separate is mutual and occurred five months ago. They request privacy at this time," a rep who spoke to PEOPLE revealed.
The rep also said that the two have been living apart for the past few months.
Wesley and de Ramon first made their relationship public in the summer of 2018, when the Vampire Diaries actor posted a picture on Instagram of the two of them alongside Nina Dobrev and Jessica Szohr at a friend's wedding.
After that, the two stayed relatively quiet about their relationship, until they were spotted early the next year wearing what looked to be wedding rings, as reported by PEOPLE.
The marriage was confirmed by Dobrev during her appearance on the episode "What Would Dobrev Do?" of Vampire Diaries costars Candice King and Kayla Ewell's podcast Directionally Challenged.
During the chat, Dobrev slyly dropped the word "wife" when referring to de Ramon.
Talking about Wesley, she said, "We hang out a lot. We're really good friends. I love his wife. It's so funny how time changes everything because I never thought he would be one of my best friends."
While Wesley appears to be relatively private, he posted about de Ramon a few times on social media, such as when the two took a trip to Switzerland, with the actor captioning the post, "Birthday weekend with the babe????."
Wesley also celebrated de Ramon's most recent birthday with a post showcasing the couple alongside their dog, Gregory.
Prior to his relationship with de de Ramon, Wesley was married to Chicago Med and Pretty Little Liars actress Torrey DeVitto from 2011 to 2013.
