Venus Williams Nods to Old Hollywood With Retro Headscarf at Lacoste’s Fall 2025 Paris Fashion Week Show
Venus Williams opted for Old Hollywood glamour for her look at Lacoste’s fall 2025 ready-to-wear show during Paris Fashion Week on Sunday. The seven-time Grand Slam champion opted for a monochrome look and elements that harkened back to classic glamour.
Williams styled a knit forest green midi dress with a keyhole cutout on the bodice. The athlete also wore a complementary green coat with sharp lapels and a sinuous collar to add weight and textural contrast to the overall look.

Other pieces that were essential parts of Williams’ attire included a pair of green, close-toed heels and a large green bag the athlete and longtime advocate carried. For a finishing touch, Williams gave her look an additional piece of old-school glamour, donning a green Lacoste scarf that tied below her chin, evocative of such classic Hollywood stars as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn.
Hadscarves have made a come back in 2024, with stars such as Hailey Bieber, Beyoncé and Sabrina Carpenter, among others, embracing the trend.
Lacoste’s fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection marked creative director Pelagia Kolotouros’ third runway outing with the label. Kolotouros was appointed to the role in February 2023 and has since showcased three bold collections inspired by the label’s cofounder, René Lacoste.
“While glittering embellishments and materials such as technical satins, lush knits and wools gave a luxe feel, Kolotouros had her eye firmly on practicality in the details,” Lily Templeton wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.
Williams’ sartorial statement for the fall 2025 show was in-tune with pieces from the collection. “A deep dark green telegraphed a notion of eveningwear and there was also a fuchsia, used to accent a graphic motif on a sweater but also entire pieces in a trio of outfits,” Templeton described.
