Vermont State Fair starts August 13. Here's the schedule

It's time to make some family memories at the Vermont State Fair.

The Vermont State Fair starts today and will be held at Vermont State Fairgrounds at 175 S Main St. in Rutland.

This will be the 178th Vermont State Fair, as it began in 1846 and has been going on ever since. You can expect all the county fair staples like ox pulling, funnel cake and pony rides.

Singer-songwriter Tyler Hubbard is even planned to perform on the last day of the fair.

It's sure to be a fun-filled week in Rutland, just before the summer ends.

The Vermont State Fair spans from August 13 to August 17.

On August 13, doors will open at 5 p.m. From then on, fair-goers can expect circus spectacles like pig racing, acrobatics shows and equestrian events. The fair closes at 11 p.m.

On August 14, doors will open at 8 a.m., like all the days going forward. Much of the same will occur but horse pulling will also take place at 1 p.m. as well as a gospel night at 7 p.m.

On August 15, ox-pulling will take place at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. A demolition derby will happen at 7:30 p.m.

On August 16, the dairy show will happen at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. The Adam Springer Band will play on the Sugarhouse Stage throughout the afternoon.

On August 17, the last day, the Tyler Hubbard concert will begin at 8:15 p.m. at the Grandstand.

From August 14 to 17, farming areas and comedy circus events will be open to the public.
