Veteran-owned skatepark now open in Corbin
May 2—CORBIN — Airborne Skateparks is a veteran-owned skatepark in the Lily community that is looking to provide the Tri-County area with a spacious place for skating.
Timothy and Tiffany Sizemore are the owners, both of whom served in the military.
Timothy served in the Army for four years, while Tiffany served in the Marines for four years.
According to Tiffany, the Sizemores have been "skating since we could stand."
Their love of skating and desire to share that love with the community is what prompted the pair of married veterans to open Airborne Skatepark.
Tiffany said, "We want to make the community happy and create a place where we can all enjoy skating."
The skate park is open to adults and children ages 5 and up.
Helmets are required for all participants. If you do not own a helmet, there are rental helmets available at the indoor facility.
Additionally, there are also concessions available as well nine large booths for seating in the park.
There is also a skate shop where visitors can purchase gear before heading onto the ramps.
Skateboards, roller-blades, and scooters are all permitted to be used at the park. However, no BMX nor motorized equipment is allowed to be used.
Airborne Skateparks is located at 6744 U.S 25 in Corbin.
Their hours are 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday; private bookings can be made on Monday and Tuesday.
