‘The View’ Co-Host Joy Behar Calls Travis Kelce ‘Illiterate’ and an 'Idiot' After Old Tweets Resurface

Joy Behar is one person you won’t find in the Swelce fan corner. The View co-host sounded off Friday morning on the legacy discussion show about recently resurfaced tweets of Kelce's. The messages, which date back to 2010 when the Chiefs tight end was just 24, occasionally show Kelce to have a limp grasp of the English language, and some retrograde opinions about women. Behar said she didn’t want Taylor Swift to “be stuck” with the “illiterate” footballer.

Behar began the segment by reading an old post of Kelce's. “Damn, the Clippers girls gotta be the girls that don’t make the Lakers team cuz they was all ugly,” she quoted.

“He’s illiterate!” Behar exclaimed, before launching into another of Kelce's messages “Why can’t girls hide they backfat?" it began. "I feel like if you wanna be a cheerleader, you have to pass a beauty test. There’s too many ugly cheerleaders out here.”

Admitting that she's a Swiftie, Behar told the panel, “I love her because she’s getting young people out to vote. So I don’t want her to be stuck with this idiot!”

The other hosts began to defend Kelce’s judgment at such a young age, when “their frontal lobe [is] not developed,” as Hostin said. Although Navarro admitted the things Kelce expressed weren’t appropriate, Goldberg seemed to feel it didn’t reflect on the athlete’s current personality.

“Listen, show me a high school boy who hasn’t said something stupid about girls,” Goldberg said as her co-hosts vehemently agreed. “I’m sorry, but this is not my problem.”
