Whoopi Goldberg will not stand for any Dolly Parton hate following the 77-year-old country superstar's Thanksgiving NFL halftime performance.

The "Jolene" songstress stepped out during the break in the Cowboys vs. Commanders game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, performing in a barely-there outfit inspired by the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders' uniforms, belting out her own classics in addition to Queen fan-favorites "We Are the Champions" and "We Will Rock You."

Not everyone took too kindly to the appearance, though, and Goldberg and her fellow View co-hosts came to her defense on Monday, Nov. 27.

Goldberg pointed out that some critics felt Parton was too old to be wearing the itty-bitty shorts and long-sleeved bra top and vest combo, even though she wore a sparkly nude bodysuit underneath it. But the audience applauded the singer as a photo of the iconic 'fit was displayed on the screen, with Goldberg agreeing, “Some critics told her to act her age. Bite me.”

Sunny Hostin admitted that she too would embrace her looks at that age, pointing out, “As far as Dolly is concerned: if I looked like that in one of them Cowboy things, I might have everything out.”

She added, “I want what she has.”

As Sara Haines noted, age is merely a number. Just because she looks her age doesn't mean she needs to act it, and as far as we're concerned, we can all only hope to have as much energy and ambition when we reach our '70s.

Many fans expressed similar sentiments online, with one chiming in on Thanksgiving day, "If I looked like this at 77 I wouldn’t complain about 9-5 HOLY HELL #DollyParton."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
