Viral totes at Clovis Trader Joe’s are going, going, gone
FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – New Trader Joe’s mini tote bags are flying off the shelves with people lining up to wait for doors to open just to get a bag.
The mini totes are priced at $3.99 and are fully insulated, one customer said she had been waiting in line since just before 8 a.m. and barely managed to get two of the infamous bags.
“I don’t know how many it started with – maybe eight, ten left some around there,” Kristin Nelson said. “I was one of the lucky to make it to get my two.”
Nelson says the bags are already a hot commodity, so much so that they’ve already gone on resale with exponential mark-ups.
“They’re already reselling I think on eBay, $800,” Nelson said. “Insane.”
She also says her hunt for the bags is not over yet.
“I’m going to come back tomorrow and get more,” Nelson said. “I have three kids and I love bags it’s a joke.”
Nelson says she had gone to another Trader Joe’s location the day before she got her bags after her middle child sent her the TikTok that made the bags go viral, and found that the location was already sold out.
For anyone looking to contend with Nelson on their own hunt for the popular bags, she says she is unafraid and named the time and place you can find her.
“Right now they say they’re getting them every day. I don’t know how many days that will be,” Nelson said.
“So if you’re wanting to get two bags, that’s your max. Get down here.”
