Fashion designers need support during these unprecedented times, and here’s one way the greater style community is stepping in. On July 14, Vogue x Amazon Fashion announced a second roll out of the Common Threads: Vogue x Amazon Fashion digital storefront. The effort, which is adding ten more designers to its line-up, helps small and medium-sized businesses reach more customers through a dedicated Amazon shopping hub.
Initially introduced in May, Amazon launched the Common Threads: Vogue x Amazon Fashion digital storefront in an effort to support independent American designers who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Vogue founded the larger Common Threads initiative in April to help millions of people in the fashion industry who have lost their jobs in light of the global health crisis.
“The primary goal of the store is to provide another avenue for designers to generate income during the pandemic,” a Vogue article explains. Cushnie, Thakoon and Anna Sui are just a few of the labels who will be joining 3.1 Phillip Lim, Victor Glemaud and Tanya Taylor from the first round.
“Designed for the modern woman, my collection is rooted in clean lines and feminine silhouettes that highlight the female form. I’ve been honored to see my designs worn by many women that I admire, including former-FLOTUS Michelle Obama, Beyoncé and J.Lo, and I am now thrilled to introduce my collection to a new audience through the Common Threads: Vogue x Amazon Fashion storefront,” Carly Cushnie, the CEO and creative director of Cushnie said in a press release.
Iconic New York-based designer Anna Sui explained, “I’m so excited to be a part of the Common Threads: Vogue x Amazon Fashion storefront. This is a great opportunity for my made-in-New York collection to connect with a wider audience. “
According to the press release, Tanya Taylor, Adam Selman and Morgan Lane were among the most popular brands that customers ordered from during the first launch. Amazon also noted that “effortlessly chic T-shirts” from 3.1 Phillip Lim and Adam Lippes were major sellers.
Ahead, I’ve curated my favorite picks from the newest Common Threads: Vogue x Amazon storefront. From dresses to sneakers and luxe beachwear, shop these chic designer finds for a great cause.
