In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—squeezes a cyst on a patient’s temple. But this pop is anything but normal. According to an imaginative fan, the gunk expelled from the cyst looks like “a tiny finger.” Trust me, you’ll see it too.
In the clip, Dr. Lee makes a nick into the embedded growth with a blade and gives it a squeeze. With little pressure, out comes a tube-shaped collection of tan-colored contents that truly does look like a bent finger. A speck of blood at the tip of the expelled gunk even looks like a painted red fingernail. The comparison is that spot-on.
“Oh my. That was like watching a tiny finger peek out of his cheek,” the creative commenter wrote.
The growth featured in this video is likely a small epidermoid cyst. This type of cyst — which is filled with wet dead skin cells and keratin — commonly occurs on the face, neck, and back. Besides often being cosmetically undesirable, epidermoid cysts can be easily irritated and tender, making removal an appealing option.
