Watch Iowa Basketball Star Caitlin Clark Belt Out Her Favorite Taylor Swift Song

As some fans of Caitlin Clark may know, the Iowa Hawkeyes basketball star is a major Swiftie.

Though Clark, 22, identified herself as a “new Taylor Swift fan” during an interview with NBC Sports last fall, she has proven her fandom over the last several months as she fielded questions about the pop star during interviews and press conferences.

A video recorded earlier this year further drove home how much the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer loves the “Cruel Summer” singer’s music.

In the video, which the University of Iowa team initially shared on X, Clark and her teammates were posed the question, “What is your favorite Taylor Swift song?” When it came time for Clark to answer about one minute into the video, she popped in front of the camera with her sweatshirt’s hood pulled up around her head. She started singing along to the lyrics of “Enchanted,” one of the songs on Swift’s 2010 album Speak Now, before flashing her phone screen to reveal the song’s lyrics.

Clark then pulled the phone back and yelled, “Taylor Swift!” She jumped and began belting out more of the lyrics before realizing, “Oh, I’m off,” and laughing as she stepped out of view.

ESPN later shared a 14-second clip of the video on TikTok that focused on Clark’s response to the question.

Clark has become a household name over the last several months through her success with the Hawkeyes. She has broken several records throughout her collegiate career, including the NCAA Division I all-time scoring record, which was in place for 54 years before she shattered it last month.

The basketball star has also been compared to Swift due to the impact she has had on her sport. When asked about those comparisons during a press conference earlier this year, Clark said she makes it a point to “never take any moment for granted,” regardless of where she is playing.

“A lot of people spend a lot of time and money to be able to come and watch our team play for two hours,” she said during the press conference, a clip of which the Locked on Women’s Basketball podcast later shared on YouTube. “You always want to go out there and give it your best—give them a little show, give them something to smile about, make it fun. Because this is probably a memory people are going to remember for the rest of their lives.”
