Wednesday’s Child: Meet Promyse, a young girl looking to share love with a forever family
Hundreds of kids are waiting in foster care hoping to be adopted. We at KARK are hoping to help these kids find loving homes through our Wednesday’s Child Series.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Behind the smile of every foster child we feature on Wednesday’s Child lies a story, and 9-year-old Promyse is no exception.
There are a few things she loves more than pink.
“I like cheese. I like pickles,” Promyse said.
However, if she had a million dollars?
“I’d buy all the pink stuff in the whole world,” Promyse said.
From hair to makeup to singing and dancing, she’s a girly-girl at heart.
“We do a lot of carpool karaoke, and she will sing her heart out,” adoption specialist Haley Callison said.
Wednesday’s Child: Meet Seth and Ethen, two brothers hoping to find a forever family together
Behind that sweet innocent smile though, lies years of trauma. It’s the reason why Callison said it may take a while for Promyse to warm up to you.
“She’s very quiet at first,” Callison said. “It’s kind of hard to get her to open up at first but she does eventually.”
Promyse has been in the foster care system for more than half her life and needs a solid support system.
“Promyse needs a lot of patience and unconditional love; a two-parent family that has pretty strong boundaries and very clear rules,” Callison said.
Wednesday’s Child: Meet Cameron, an energetic 13-year-old with a big heart
This girly-girl plans to share her love of all things pink with her new family.
“I want sisters. I will play with them,” Promyse said.
It’s a promise she plans on keeping.
