Wendy's Fan-Favorite Frosty Flavor Makes a Comeback for Summer

Wendy's is switching up its Frosty menu for the incoming season.

The fast food chain will bring back the Strawberry Frosty for the summer, replacing the Vanilla Frosty.

"The sweet and real strawberry puree we use delivers the refreshing taste of summer in every spoonful. After the response we saw last year, we knew it was something that deserved to reclaim its place on this summer’s menu!" said John Li, Wendy's vice president of culinary innovation, in a press release announcing the flavor's return.

The flavor made its debut last summer after fans of the franchise requested its addition. Wendy's made the announcement on June 6, 2022, with a coy tweet. People on social media were ecstatic over the seasonal addition, as it was the most requested flavor by fans of the chain.

It marked the first time since 2006 that Wendy's added a new flavor to its roster, with vanilla being the initial alternate option to chocolate. When the strawberry flavor was revealed, Wendy's Chief Marketing Officer Carl Loredo gave a statement on why the franchise decided to bring in the limited-edition dessert.

"We're always listening to our fans, and as the most requested item, it was a no-brainer for us to bring the Strawberry Frosty to the menu this season," he said. "While some of our competitors are still trying to get their ice cream machines to work, fans can dip into this new strawberry treat all summer long at Wendy's."

According to the press release of its return, the flavor "quickly became a fan-favorite."
