Wendy's New Frosty Cream Cold Brew Is 99 Cents Right Now

Wendy's is finally spilling the beans on a new menu item, and it's coming at a time when many people around the country could use a cold one. The burger chain just announced that Frosty Cream Cold Brew will be available at stores nationwide starting today.

The iced coffee combines smooth, cold-brewed coffee with Vanilla Frosty creamer and a choice of vanilla, chocolate or caramel syrup. But this isn't just any old iced coffee. In an exclusive interview with Parade, John Li, Wendy's VP of Culinary Innovation, told us what stands out about the new drink.

"Iced coffee is taking hot-brewed coffee and trying to chill it as fast as you can and selling it as iced coffee," says Li. "Making a cold brew involves finding the right beans, getting the right roast to deliver a flavor profile you want, grinding it and putting it into the water at ambient temperature," Li says. "You have to do it for like 10 hours at least. We do it for 12.”

From there, the beverage goes through a filtration process and gets packaged and shipped for use in Wendy's restaurants.

But let's be honest. The BIG news here comes down to two words: Frosty Creamer. "The people who love Frosty love it," Li says. "It's almost like the love of Frosty is equal if not more than the love of the Wendy's brand." No lies detected there.

Customers can customize their cold brew with chocolate, vanilla or caramel syrup and just like at Starbucks, Li says that you can ask for more or less syrup to really dial in your drink.

The Frosty Cream Cold Brew is available all day and will be a new permanent menu item. Li said there aren't seasonal coffees in the works just yet, but he didn't rule that out in the future. We'll be waiting.

Need another reason to give it a try? Wendy's app users can grab any small or hot cold-brew iced coffee, including the Frosty Cream Cold Brew, for 99 cents. Fans can take advantage of this offer once daily through Aug. 6. No additional purchase is necessary.
