Who Went Home Tonight on ‘Bachelor’ Week 4 as Women Melt Down in Malta?

How much more drama can Joey Graziadei take on The Bachelor. After a couple low-drama (boring!) seasons, producers are amping things up for Joey. He had to choose between feuding contestants Maria and Sydney tonight on The Bachelor episode 4.

The season 28 hunk had his hands full as Sydney had previously tangled with Maria over bullying—and the other ladies in the house took sides.

Tonight, the show visited the beautiful European country of Malta for night 1 of back-to-back episodes.

There was no rose ceremony at the end of Monday’s show, but fans will see one during episode two on Tuesday night.

Still, one of the wrangling women got the boot!

Read on for more on the week 4 drama as 15 ladies remained.

Who got the one-on-one date?

Joey chose Lexi for the personal time in Malta and they checked out old buildings, shopped, ate pastries and danced in the charming street.

“My heart is racing,” Lexi told cameras. “He makes me feel amazing.”

Amid the romantic Mediterranean scenery, they kissed.

Later, Joey and Lexi sat in a historic church and the parish priest advised them about the importance of having children in marriage.

Lexi had revealed to cameras in a previous episode that she suffered from a condition that might make it impossible for her to birth children of her own.

The beauty knew she’d have to level with Joey about that.

Over dinner, Lexi did, telling him how she’d become ill while working in New York and had surgery. Doctors discovered Stage 5 endometriosis, a reproductive condition in which tissue that was supposed to grow inside of her uterus had grown onto other organs “all the way up to my lungs.”

While the surgery was successful to remove the tissue, a doctor warned her, “You might not be able to have your own kids.”

Sobbing Lexi, 30, told Joey she’d been devastated by the news and an ex-boyfriend made things worse by dumping her over possible infertility.

Sympathetic Joey told her that “doesn’t scare me,” and was open to adoption if things worked out between them.

She replied that his kindness “brings me to tears…I appreciate you so much.”

Joey gave her the date rose and they kissed.

What happened between Sydney and Maria?

Sydney told Jess she was shocked Maria was still around after she’d complained about her to Joey the previous week.

Joey had kept them both on the show.

“It’s affecting my health. I’m exhausted,” Sydney told cameras about the feud which started when she took umbrage at Maria scoffing at Madina for being insecure as the oldest woman on The Bachelor.

Who went on The Bachelor group date?

Jenn, Daisy, Edwina, Katelyn, Allison, Rachel, Autumn, Jess, Kelsey T., Madina, Lea, and Kelsey A. were named for the group date which left Sydney and Maria.

Who went on the unusual two-on-one date?

Sydney and Maria went on an unusual two-on-one date later with Joey. What could go wrong there?

Both groaned to the group about it. Maria said she’d tried to drop the disagreement and move on, but Sydney kept going.

“This is torture,” Sydney told the others.

What happened on the group date?

On the group date, the women were instructed in sword fighting and were told to individually gaze into Joey’s eyes.

Daisy loved looking at the hunk with his shirt off, in partial knight garb.

She kissed him during the gazing contest, as did Kelsey A.

In one of the most suggestive contests in Bachelor history, the girls then had to try to catch sausages with only their mouths while the meat was spun around!

The sausages smacked most of the women in their faces instead, but Autumn managed to get a big bite and won the prize of extra time with Joey. She kissed him.

At cocktail time after the group date, Rachel impressed Joey by wearing her glasses, and he did the same.

Kelsey T. stood out by telling Joey she liked “action,” and they had a makeout session.

Jess told him, “I can feel myself falling for you,” and also got smooched.

However, Joey seemed most excited by Kelsey T. and gave the group date rose to her.

What happened on Maria and Sydney’s two-on-one?

The other women were on Team Maria or Team Sydney and wondered what the outcome would be.

Joey liked them both but wanted to suss out the situation.

The three traveled by boat through Malta’s famed Blue Grotto.

Joey spoke to Sydney privately first, who claimed she’d had trouble with Maria attacking her.

She told Joey that Maria made her “really scared.”

Sydney contended that Maria had told Lea to “shut the f--k up.”

Joey was baffled and then had it out with Maria, who claimed Sydney had wrongly accused her.

When he told her about Sydney’s claim she’d F-bombed Lea, Maria said, “No! It’s such a lie.”

Joey stressed he wanted a comfortable environment among his ladies, but wanted to try to put the feud behind them.

“She’s a liar!” Maria told cameras.

When Sydney and Maria were alone again, Maria challenged Sydney’s story about what she’d said to Lea, reminding, “We’re on camera the entire time. What the hell are you talking about?”

Who went home tonight on The Bachelor?

Despite there being no official rose ceremony tonight, Joey met the two later for dinner with only one rose on the table.

In confessional, the handsome tennis pro said that he decided to pick the woman he connected with the best.

He asked Sydney if she thought they had a future and she said yes. So did Maria. “I’m hoping you feel what I feel,” Maria told him.

Joey picked up the rose and told them, “I’m trusting my gut.”

He said, “Sydney, I’m sorry but I cannot give you this rose. Is it OK if I walk you out?”

Joey told her he felt stronger about Maria and Sydney told cameras, “I’m a little shocked. He doesn’t know the real her. She sucks.”

The blonde vowed to go home and “see my cats.”

Joey gave Maria the two-on-one date rose and a singer appeared to perform “Ave Maria.”

Back at the hotel, the others saw a crew member remove Sydney’s suitcase.

Lea cried over her friend’s departure.

How did the episode end?

Joey spent some private time with Jenn, Edwina and Madina, who confided in him that her parents’ divorce had shattered her ideas about love.

Lea got angry when Madina, who had previously been friends with Sydney, seemed to cozy up to Maria.

Madina explained to Lea that she was merely trying to navigate the situation, but Lea huffed that she held people to high standards and had different morals.

Lea told others Madina was fake.

Madina groaned to Maria that she thought the ladies thought she was the reason Sydney went home.

At that, Maria flipped out and stormed away in tears.

Lea whined to Joey about his sending Sydney away instead of Maria.

Meanwhile, Maria became unhinged, shouting to a producer, “I’m out! They win! I just want to go home!”

The episode ended in a cliffhanger that will be resolved in Tuesday night’s part two.

The Bachelor airs at 8 p.m. Mondays on ABC. This week, there'll be an extra episode on Tuesday night.
