We're Still Not Over These 5 Feel-Good Moments from the ACM 'Our Country’ Special
1) When the kids stole the show during Lady Antebellum's performance.
Lady Antebellum's powerful performance of their latest single "What I’m Leaving For" provided hope and light during this dark time, as well as not a few laughs. We couldn't help but giggle when a few of the trio's adorable children popped into the frame to make funny faces.
2) When Carrie Underwood was literally drinking alone while performing "Drinking Alone."
Carrie Underwood belted out a flawless rendition of "Drinking Alone" from the comfort of her couch, as a glass of red wine waited patiently by her side. Take a sip, Carrie—you earned it.
3) When Miranda Lambert soothed our soul with the sounds of nature during her 'Bluebird' performance.
Miranda Lambert's pretty performance of her latest single, "Bluebird," came with an assist from one heck of a backup singer: Mother Nature. Miranda explained that the peaceful sound of water that could be heard in the background was from a natural mountain spring on her farm in Tennessee. Consider us comforted.
4) When BFFs Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker paid tribute to Kenny Rogers.
Brad and Darius couldn't be together to perform, but we could still feel their friendship in their moving tribute to Kenny Rogers, who died March 20 at 81. "Kenny is the reason I’m sitting here," Darius said before the two launched into powerful covers of “Lucille” and “The Gambler.”
5) When Eric Church debuted his new song, "Never Break Heart."
If you ask us, Eric Church's sentimental new ballad about staying strong through life's hardships couldn't have come at a better time. He also offered fans an inspiring message of hope, saying: "I have hope and you should have hope because since the beginning of time people have gathered. They gathered for fellowship, they've gathered for worship, they've gathered for prayer, they've gathered for song, they've gathered for communion, they've gathered for grief, but they've gathered—and we will gather again."
Please pass the wine, Carrie!
