'Wheel of Fortune' Fans Praise Pat Sajak for Handling Awkward Moments With Ease
Pat Sajak has been in television for quite a long time, and over the years, he has obviously learned a thing or two about how to handle certain situations!
One of those instances being when a Wheel of Fortune contestant joyously spins the wheel, just to unfortunately land on "Bankrupt."
The longtime TV personality, who has hosted the game show for 40 years, knew just the right words to say on a recent episode of his final season before retirement, when two players spun on the money-losing space back-to-back.
On the official Instagram account of the broadcast, a video shared on Tuesday, Sept. 19, depicted the scenario, where Sajak's perfect response and hosting ease was featured for all to experience, including those who may not even watch the show.
Contestant James was seen landing on the dreaded "Bankrupt" marker, when the 76-year-old aptly quipped, "If you're going to do it..." with the player joining in with him to finish the phrase, "do it early!"
Next, contestant Nicole spun onto "Bankrupt" again, and Sajak comically repeated the expression once more, as the collective laughed it off together.
"Pat Sajak always knows what to say ??," the caption of the upload read.
Fans and viewers complimented the legendary host's ability to always "help them feel better" in the comment section of the post.
"He’s gonna be missed when he retires," one said, as another agreed: "Pat is a legend host."
"That was funny Pat! Way to help them feel better??," a third wrote, while a fourth dropped, "Yes I wish I had the gift of the gab!"
Even contestant James, himself, responded to the clip, confirming, "He definitely knew exactly what to say ????. It was such an experience being up there."
"He always says the right thing. Hopefully, Ryan Seacrest keeps practicing at home honing Pat's finesse!" someone else hoped.
As Parade previously reported, on June 12, the beloved host announced that the current 41st season would be his last, concluding a historic four-decade run.
Not long after Sajak’s retirement was announced, Seacrest was tapped as the official host beginning with season 42.
The end of an era!
