Why Christina Hendricks' Latest Project Is Giving Her ‘Brain Aerobics’

There have been plenty of new beginnings for Christina Hendricks this year. In April, the actress married George Balanchine; earlier this summer, she debuted a brand new bob haircut. Now the Mad Men alum is starting a huge renovation project at her New York home.

On August 21, Hendricks shared a series of photos to Instagram that will look familiar to anyone who's ever remodeled a home. The first shot showed a dog lying next to stacks of paint cans, while the remaining images revealed a series of mostly empty rooms and hallways (except for various tools and a folded-up carpet). The final shot featured still more paint cans alongside two paint swatches, one in sage green and one in eggshell.

"We are remodeling our New York home!!!" Hendricks captioned her post. "So excited for this challenge of taking a modern finished home, which I’ve never lived in, and adding traditional, rustic, and country elements to blend them together. It’s giving me brain aerobics!!! George has added crown molding, we’ve patched up 50% of the can lighting in the ceiling and now to the paint!!! @farrowandball #bancha #greenground"

In the comments, fans gave the project their stamp of approval.

"Sooo exciting! I can't wait to see! With your good taste decorating, it will be wonderful! ??" wrote one Instagram user.

"I hope everything will be as you want!! We love youu!! ???? And I’m so excited, your taste in home is really excellent! ????" raved a second fan.

Hendricks previously hinted at the upcoming home improvements on Sunday, Aug. 18, when she shared a picture to her Instagram story featuring a glass of wine and a bottle of water on a wooden countertop alongside a hairbrush, a compact and a measuring tape.

"This can only mean one thing," she wrote. "ITS TIME FOR A NEW HOME RENOVATION!!!!"
