The New York City gala scene took a detour to Brooklyn on May 15, when the Brooklyn Academy of Music held its annual gala. The event honored Ethan Hawke, Walter Mosley, and William I. Campbell and Christine W?chter-Campbell for their contributions to culture, and featured live music from Neneh Cherry, dinner, and an art auction including works by Pat Steir, Deborah Kass, and Shinique Smith.
The evening, chaired by Judith and Alan Fishman and Dorothy Lichtenstein and held in partnership with rag & bone, drew guests including Bobby Cannavale, Emily Mortimer, Griffin Dunne, and Tyler Clinton to the Brooklyn Expo Center. Once the main festivities wrapped, BAM’s Young Producers Leadership Committee hosted an afterparty for anyone who wasn’t done celebrating, and offered live performances, music, and dancing for the crowd.
