Why Khloé Kardashian Doesn't Feel 'Complete Bond' With Son

Khloé Kardashian is getting candid about the reality of her motherhood experience since welcoming a second child.

The reality TV star, 38, welcomed her son Tatum back in July 2022, officially making her first-born daughter True, 5, a big sister.

But the journey to becoming a mother of two hasn't always been easy, especially since Tatum's arrival to the world was much different than True's. Kardashian used a surrogate for her second child with ex Tristan Thompson, whereas she gave birth to True herself in 2018.

"When you compare it, between True and him, it's a very different experience," the Good American co-founder admitted to mom Kris Jenner during the newest episode of The Kardashians on Hulu, further explaining, "Like, the connection."

"Like with True, it took me a couple days to be like, 'Okay, this is my daughter,' and I was super into it—but just days," she added in the conversation "But with him, it's taken me, like, months. I love him and I love kids, but I definitely still don't have that complete bond. But you know, so many say it takes time."

Jenner, 67, seemed to fully understand the situation, noting that Kardashian has had quite a chaotic year, especially considering the circumstances surrounding her rocky relationship with Thompson after their son was conceived.

In case you missed it, Kardashian found out months into the pregnancy of her second child that Thomson, 32, had actually fathered a son with another woman by the name of Maralee Nichols, while he was still with the TV personality. Kardashian learned of the situation just days before Nichols delivered her baby, who was born in December 2021.

"I think that for you, you've been through a lot," Jenner explained during their heart-to-heart chat. "Your emotions are spent on trying to deal with trauma and all the stuff that you've been through, and I think that you have to remember that. I mean, you have to give yourself a little bit of credit."

"I just feel bad, for sure," Kardashian continued, before clarifying. "Not bad, I feel like guilty sometimes. Like, why isn't it the same? But I know that it will be, and I know I don't treat him differently, I just question myself sometimes."

"I wish I wasn't so critical of myself 'cause I'm very kind to everyone else," she said in a confessional during the episode, which aired Thursday, June 8. "I'm just not that kind to myself. But being a mom is truly one of the most magical experiences."
