Why NFL Star Darius Slay Is Begging Taylor Swift to Skip Travis Kelce's Upcoming Game

Darius Slay, Taylor Swift

NFL star Darius Slay is sending a pointed message to Taylor Swift ahead of his upcoming football game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

In new videos, the Philadelphia Eagles cornerback is requesting the "Bad Blood" singer not attend their game later in the season, as he feels the pop star may be the opposing squad's "good luck charm" as of late.

During the five-time Pro Bowler's recent episode on his Big Play Slay podcast this week, he directed his comical request straight to Swift. "Taylor, do not come to the game!" he begged, before adding, "'Cause it seems like you bring the energy of winning, so do not come to that game."

Swift's recent support of the Chiefs—who currently hold a 3-1 record since the start of the season last month—is due to her budding romance with the team's tight end, Travis Kelce, her rumored new beau since reports began swirling that the two started "quietly hanging out" in September.

To make the situation even more hilarious, Slay is actually a teammate of Travis' older brother, Jason Kelce, who plays center for the Pennsylvania-based group.

The "Look What You Made Me Do" artist made her first appearance at the sporting event, which she has now been present for two weeks in a row, on Sept. 24, cheering from the stands alongside his mom, Donna Kelce.

Will she make a third appearance this weekend? At this point, the NFL has not been shy about capitalizing on her attendance, though Travis admitted he feels the league is "overdoing it" with the Taylor sightings coverage.

As for Slay's playful notice, it looks like football fans—and Swifties—will just have to wait and see if Taylor shows up for the Philadelphia Eagles versus Kansas City Chiefs match in November!
