Davis finally saw the exact shade of red she wanted for her new furniture, and ultimately bought two couches from Conn’s. After the transaction, she thought that would be the end of the ordeal. However, it was just getting started.

“They just made my good days bad and my bad days worse,” Davis told the news outlet.

Despite paying for her furniture on time each month, Davis received dozens of calls every day. She tried to block the numbers, but the calls continued. Ultimately, she was unable to block any more numbers. All in all, she received 306 different calls.

The harassment prompted her to take legal action, filing a lawsuit against Conn’s under the telephone consumer protection act.

According to Davis’s attorney, Frank Kerney,If you tell someone to stop calling and they continue calling you they are breaking the law.”

Violators can be fined hefty charges for each call. Ultimately, Davis won $459,000 after she told robocallers to stop contacting her and they continued to reach out multiple times a day. Davis felt intimidated and harassed.

Davis is hopeful that her story can educate others who may find themselves in her situation. “That’s not fair to anyone to have to be called numerous of times regarding a bill and especially if you are not late,” she said.
