The Worst Time of Day to Visit McDonald’s

Love to head to McDonald's in the morning right before heading to work? Well, if you're looking to get quick service from the iconic fast-food chain, there's one time of the morning you'll definitely want to opt to not stop by the Golden Arches if you're in a rush.

According to former employee Mike Haracz, who goes by @chefmikeharacz on TikTok, right before the lunch rush is one time you'll want to steer clear of the popular drive-thru. "Why is 10:30 the worst time to go to McDonald’s? I’m a former McDonald’s corporate chef, and here is your answer,” he said as he began the video.

While all-day breakfast may have been a pull for the fast-food giant in previous years, as of late, he says that it "isn't really a thing anymore and that the menu switches from breakfast to lunch at 10:30 a.m. each day. And, it's for that reason anyone trying to get anything from the restaurant in a speedy manner may find themselves waiting around for longer than initially anticipated.

Haracz also goes on to say that since all of the meals require the same equipment, trying to get hash browns at the switchover time from breakfast to lunch may be difficult because the employees are already using the same fryers to make French fries. "The grills have a different time and temperature," he notes.

Another reason 10:30 a.m. isn't an ideal time to stop by for something quick to eat? Well, that lies in the crew. "Crew are switching over sometimes. Sometimes more headcount come in or leave at that time. So, all of these moving parts are happening while it's also getting busier at the restaurant while also switching an entire menu; It causes a lot of issues within the restaurants. That is why 10:30 is the worst because it is a cluster in the restaurants transitioning from breakfast to lunch.”

As Haracz's points are very, very valid, some people in the comments were quick to back up this notion, while others just wanted to know why all-day breakfast wasn't a thing anymore. "10:30 may be the worst, but 10:35 is the best time," one person said. "I find just after 10:30 am to be the best time to get lunch cuz all the lunch items are the freshest at that point," said another. While other commenters chimed in about the all-day breakfast saying, "I miss all day breakfast. That was the best move they made in years," and "Would it have been easier to keep serving breakfast all day than to switch over? I loved breakfast all day."

So, what say you, folks? Is 10:30 a.m. really the worst time to stop by McDonald's? Or does a little patience go a long way?
