'A Wrinkle in Time' fans are already prepping their movie theater beauty looks
You can either kick yourself for not being organized enough to plan a Wakanda-inspired look when you went to see Black Panther, or you can get busy brainstorming some fab fantasy beauty transformations for the next big cosplay-worthy cinematic experience: A Wrinkle in Time.
Directed by Ava DuVernay, the big-budget Disney film stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling in the most awe-inspiring astral ensembles imaginable, with elaborate sculpted wigs, bejeweled brows, and metallic makeup to boot.
In addition to inspiring a range of Barbies, the costumes have also got fans dreaming up creative tributes to the film, which premieres on March 9. DuVernay, naturally, has already given her stamp of approval.

So. Guys. What are we wearing for @ava’s #WrinkleInTime? I’m considering a long braid or my big curls like Auntie Oprah. Also, lots of sparkle. Something about that film just SPARKLES. ??? pic.twitter.com/CQM19wKtgM

Colorful wigs and “cosmic beards” — we assume that involves a lot of glitter — are also expected to hit movie theater lobbies.

The glitter-averse need not fret. Many fans of Madeleine L’Engle’s sci-fi novel are going more geek, less glam, with less-is-more homages to young heroine Meg Murry, played by newcomer Storm Reid.

Will it be specs and curls à la Meg, or bonkers braids and full-on Mrs. Whatsit/Which/Who grandeur? It’s your call — but here’s a beauty tutorial to get those creative juices flowing.
