Xbox Is Making a Pizza-Scented Controller

If you’ve ever wanted the scent of pizza while gaming without the dread of gumming up a controller with delicious pizza grease, boy does Xbox have the promotion for you. Microsoft has announced a new competition in which you can potentially win an Xbox controller that smells like pizza. Yes, really.

The set of four controllers is based on the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, an animated movie from Seth Rogen, who seems like the kind of guy who’d enjoy some pizza with his video games. Each controller is based on one of the Turtles – Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo – and features their signature colors, weapons, and motifs.

And yes, these controllers smell like pizza. They each have a pizza-shaped scent diffuser built in, which does seem like it would make things a little bulky and cumbersome. Thankfully, it does seem like you can remove the big slab of pizza from the back and just use it as is.

Unfortunately, you can’t just buy these signature scented controllers directly from Xbox. Instead, you’ll have to win them — but entering is pretty simple. All you have to do is follow Xbox Game Pass on Twitter and retweet the competition post, and you’ll officially be in the running.

The competition is open to anybody from one of the many regions in which Xbox consoles are officially supported. You also have to be over 18 years of age, and as is usually the case with these kinds of competitions, if you’re an employee at Microsoft, or somebody in your family is, you’re out of luck. The competition is set to end on August 13, 2023, shortly after the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which will hit theaters on August 2, 2023 in the US, followed by a premium digital release the following month.
