Yesss, Our Favorite '80s Candy Is Back
Calling all ’80s kids: Remember Bonkers! fruit chews? And those crazy TV commercials where giant bunches of fruit fell from the sky and knocked over grown-ups? Well, Bonkers! are back, baby.
Discontinued by Nabisco nearly two decades ago, they’ll hit grocery stores this July and August with the same chewy vanilla outside and fruit-filled center. One tiny difference: The 21st-century version is vegan.
Here’s a crazy little tidbit: It took developers more than five years to recreate them, because they had to track down the inventor for the original formula and the companies with the original flavors. But it was so worth it. Leaf Brands, the company that now owns Bonkers!, has already received thousands of requests from fans requesting to buy whole cases. (It wasn’t us, we swear.)
