More 'Rogue One' Toys Debut in Part 3 of the Fan-Made Stop-Motion Video Series
As we’ve previously noted, Star Wars won’t be holding an official “Force Friday” this year, even though Sept. 30 will still be the day that Hasbro debuts its new line of franchise-related merchandise. Nonetheless, Disney has been hyping their upcoming Rogue One toys with a series of officially sanctioned fan-made stop-motion videos, and in the third installment of this “Go Rogue” YouTube series, things get dicey for our rebel heroes.
In this follow-up to the previous two chapters (which can be seen here and here), Jyn Erso and her motley crew go in search of the second half of the Death Star’s plans (here labeled “Imperial Building Instructions”) on the rain-drenched planet of Eadu. There, they stumble upon an Imperial AT-ACT, and must contend with a gang of stormtroopers whose maturity levels seem to be, well, lacking. That’s also true of the white-armored soldiers aboard the overhead destroyer, who pester Imperial Director Orson Krennic with annoying questions about his recent haircut and cape in a scene that also reveals how such enormous intergalactic ships keep their windshields so clean.
Presenting an up-close look at the remote-controlled AT-ACT as well as Tie-Strikers and U-Wing ships, this third chapter of the “Go Rogue” video series has a sense of humor that’s in keeping with its toy-based action. You can watch the clip above, in advance of the Rogue One line of toys debuting on store shelves on Sept. 30.
