'Rogue One' Stop-Motion Toy Hijinks Continue in Latest 'Go Rogue' Chapter
Last week, to kick of the month-long countdown to the date Rogue One toys go on sale, Lucasfilm teamed with licensees and some talented superfans to create a stop-motion version of the upcoming Star Wars Story titled Go Rogue. The clip featured various toy versions of our heroes attempting to track down the plans to the Lego Death Star, outracing and outwitting the Imperial forces along the way.
Today, the second of the four chapters is out (watch above) on the Star Wars YouTube channel. The clip links up Rebel allies Chirrut ?mwe, Baze Malbus, and Bodhi Rook with the previously introduced Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, and K-2SO as they try to stay one step ahead of Imperial Director Orson Krennic and his legions of Stormtroopers.
While the plot is a very loose adaptation of Rogue One, it highlights loads of the upcoming action figures, vehicles, and playsets from Hasbro, Lego, Mattel, Jakks Pacific, Funko, and the Disney Store. Among the new playthings in this chapter: Hasbro versions of Chirrut and Baze, the giant Stormtrooper “Big-Fig” from Jakks Pacific, and the Lego U-Wing piloted by Bodhi.
The new line of Rogue One toys go on sale Sept. 30; the film, meanwhile, blasts into theaters on Dec. 16.
