Tom Hanks and Ellen DeGeneres Have Pixar-Off as Woody and Dory
Tom Hanks joined Ellen DeGeneres on Ellen for a good old-fashioned Pixar-off. Hanks is the voice of Woody in the hugely successful Toy Story franchise and DeGeneres is the voice of Dory in the summer smash hit Finding Dory. It all started when Hanks asked DeGeneres about meeting people with children — and the children only knowing them by their voices.
First, Hanks told the audience to close their eyes and imagine they’re in Pixar-land. Then DeGeneres kicked it off. Neither had to change their voices much to play their parts. Instead, they portrayed certain traits of their characters. DeGeneres exploited Dory’s forgetfulness, asking Hanks, as Woody, who he is. And Hanks’s Woody eventually lost his hat … again. Dory offered to help find it, but then forgot who he was again.
