Sisqo Still Claims 'A-List' Status in First Solo Single in 13 Years
Never big on modesty, "Thong Song" singer Sisqo makes a return with his first solo single in 13 years.
The singer, who debuted as a member of platinum 1990s R&B group Dru Hill, is back with as much bravado on "A-List," a catchy, trap-hip-hop record with a guest rap from Waka Flocka.

Though it's been more than a decade since Sisqo had a top 10 hit with songs like "Incomplete" or "Thong Song," he still claims A-list status on the new record, singing: "Whoa, I get the best of everything/Cribs, cars, clothes 'cause money ain't a thang/Whoa, I been on top of my game/Way past rich/'Cause I'm A-list in this b----."
The lyrics are about as shallow as the typical hip-hop/R&B song on pop radio today. Sisqo threatens to take another man's girl and boasts about his woman's designer outfit. There's even heavy Auto-Tune effect on his voice, which is a surprise considering he is a strong singer. Still, the song is a perfect dance track for the clubs.
Waka Flocka's verse adds to the hype. The Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta star rhymes, "Spent a hundred racks to put three letters in my damn chain/Just do it big like Ving Rhames."
A video for the song is in the works, Sisqo says in a post on Instagram. Sisqo's new album, available on iTunes on Sept. 9, is called Last Dragon, continuing in the tradition of his 1999 solo debut Unleash the Dragon and 2001's Return of Dragon.
Although Sisqo has not released a solo album in a decade, Dru Hill's last album, InDRUpendence Day, came out in July 2010. The group is scheduled to perform in London on Sept. 14, according to a post on Sisqo's Facebook page.
