2 new Chipotle stores planned for Santa Rosa County
Chipotle Mexican Grill has been working on expanding its footprint within Santa Rosa County and surrounding areas for the past few years. With two projects based in the county receiving Development Orders, the chain’s expansion efforts could bear fruit soon.
The international restaurant chain was issued a Development Order in February for a new location in Navarre and was issued one for a Pace location last April. Neither location is open for business yet and there is not a timeline available for either project’s conclusion.
Chipotle currently has just one store up-and-running in Santa Rosa County, which is located in Gulf Breeze at 725 Gulf Breeze Parkway.
The chain’s footprint is stronger in Escambia County, but not by much. Chipotle has two locations open in Escambia County, one at Cordova Mall and the other at 1674 E. Nine Mile Road, with a third store proposed for development in West Pensacola.
There are 222 Chipotle Mexican Grills open across Florida.

Chipotle in Navarre
Navarre’s first Chipotle location is planned for a commercial hotbed off of Navarre Parkway.
Site plans show that Chipotle’s first store in Navarre will be developed on Mikajack Avenue, located in the same plaza as Buffalo Wild Wings, Publix and Starbucks.
This project’s Development Order shows that the restaurant’s address will be 8333 Mikajack Ave.
Navarre’s first Chipotle will be approximately 2,375 square feet with two dozen parking spaces, according to its approved set of site plans, and will have two drive-thru lanes on a parcel that’s about 0.7 acres.
Chipotle in Pace
The new location planned for Pace will be the area’s first Chipotle.
The restaurant is proposed to have 2,350 square feet of space inside with a single lane for drive-thru customers.
This new location was approved for development at 4645 Highway 90, an area that’s popular for prospective commercial businesses.
A nearby project to build a new a Jim ‘N Nick’s BBQ restaurant was approved in May by Santa Rosa County. There is also a proposal to develop a Buffalo Wild Wings in the area as well.
Developers have sought approval for this project since November 2022, but their plans weren’t approved until they received a Development Order from Santa Rosa County in April 2023.
