2-month-old girl left in hot car in Akron while dad went to donate plasma

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — A man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after leaving his young daughter in a hot car, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies were called to a CSL Plasma parking lot on Grant Street at about noon for reports a baby was inside a parked vehicle.

When deputies found the car, it wasn’t running and its doors were unlocked, deputies said. The temperature at the time was reportedly 82 degrees.

The father of the 2-month-old girl was found inside the facility, where he had planned to donate plasma.

Summit County Children Services took the child after she was evaluated by EMS and the dad was arrested, deputies said.

He’s expected to “appear in Akron Municipal Court for Child Endangerment” shortly, according to the sheriff’s office.
