6 children, 2 adults critically injured in single-vehicle crash in Escambia County

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Two adults and six children were critically injured in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon in Escambia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers with the FHP said a 37-year-old woman was driving west on Occie Phillips Road in Walnut Hill when she lost control of her truck at around 2:47 p.m. on Sunday.

The vehicle crashed into the mound, causing it to flip on its side.

The driver, a 47-year-old female passenger, and six children were injured in the crash.

All eight individuals were taken to a nearby hospital.

The crash is under investigation by the FHP.
