94-Year-Old Iris Apfel Is Getting Her Own Macy's I.N.C. Line
Iris Apfel is teaming up with Macy's I.N.C. to (finally!) create her own line of clothing. At 94 years young, the style icon is collaborating with the brand for a collection titled "Iris Meets I.N.C.," which will feature "must-have" clothing and jewelry inspired by the '60s and all things mod.
"Macy's was my very first department store and we used to always go there on shopping trips," said Apfel, later adding, "How many 94-year-old cover girls do you know?"
The range will include retro staples like printed flare pants, A-line skirts, shift dresses and statement jackets-plus some black and white bangle bracelets and other Apfel-esque accessories. However, a few key items from the '60s will be missing from the collection.
"The only thing off-limits are the miniskirts and very sleeveless pieces, which I think expose too much for an older woman," the style muse told WWD of her age-appropriate collection. Still, the demure Apfel will transcend generational lines in a slightly savvier way. Her collection will premiere with a set of her own emojis, too. Her reasoning? "If it makes the kids happy," she told Fashionista.
Iris Meets I.N.C. will be available at Macy's in stores and online in September 2016.
