Gov. Andy Beshear, a potential candidate for Democratic vice president, is joining Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign volunteers Sunday in the Atlanta metropolitan area for the Weekend of Action in Georgia, which marks 100 days until the general election, according to a release.

Along with the governor, Hadley Duvall, a Kentucky abortion-rights advocate who previously appeared in an ad for President Joe Biden, will join the volunteers in Forsyth County, Georgia, for the event.

"There is so much energy and enthusiasm for Democrats right now," Beshear campaign strategist Eric Hyers told The Courier Journal. "Governor Beshear is looking forward to joining his friend and reproductive rights advocate Hadley Duvall to open a Harris for President campaign HQ in Georgia and fire up grassroots volunteers."

The campaigning event is expected to encourage to vote for Democrats in November's election, the release stated.

"Since Sunday, more than 6,000 new volunteers have signed up to join the Harris and the Coordinated Campaign in Georgia, an unprecedented level of engagement which highlights the groundswell of support for Vice President Harris and Georgia Democrats," officials said in the release.
