Biden to address nation from Oval Office on 'what lies ahead' after ending presidential bid
WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden will address the nation from the Oval Office on Wednesday about what comes next now that he has ended his bid for a second term.
“Tomorrow evening at 8 PM ET, I will address the nation from the Oval Office on what lies ahead and how I will finish the job for the American people,” Biden said in a message posted Tuesday on X, formerly Twitter.
Biden pulled out of the presidential race on Sunday following weeks of pressure from Democrats who feared he would lose to former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee.
Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, who announced that she would seek the Democratic nomination for president. A USA TODAY count of delegates shows the 59-year old Harris has secured enough endorsements to become the party’s nominee.
Harris’ campaign has raised more than $100 million since Sunday.
