‘Blue wall’ election results 2024: See latest vote counts in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin
As former President Donald Trump builds towards the 270 electoral votes needed for another presidential term, all eyes in Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign are focused on the crucial "blue wall" trifecta.
The blue wall refers to the collection of states whose electoral votes often went to the Democrat presidential candidate. Trump flipped three them red in 2016: Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. And in 2020, the trio flipped back blue, going to President Joe Biden.
The three key states, which collectively account for 44 electoral votes, have yet to be called for either Harris or Trump in the 2024 race. Winning the three states would likely vault either candidate to the 270 electoral vote threshold required to win the White House.
With Trump's victory in the battleground state of North Carolina, the Republican nominee becomes the first candidate to win a swing state Tuesday night. He also picked up wins in Republican strongholds like Florida and Ohio while Harris succeeded in several East Coast states including Maryland and New York.
Keep track of the "blue wall" trifecta results here as votes continue to be counted into Wednesday.
