Chalk art adding to the beauty of the NYS Fair
NEW YORK STATE FAIRGROUNDS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — For Ally Walker, it all starts with a vision and chalk.
“It can highlight an area. It can add beautification to an otherwise overlooked corner. You know, you might be walking down here and keep looking and keep walking, and you are not even noticing something. So, this right here. Hopefully, through color, through design makes people look twice,” Walker said.
From the start, Ally wanted to paint everything, a passion she grew up with.
“My grandfather was from Oswego New Yor, and he was a water color artist,, as well as a draftsman. And my mom is an artist too as well, so I guess it just runs in the blood,” said Walker.
She speaks with clients, then comes up with designs — finally bringing her vision to life.
“A lot of people are just like wow. I think a lot of people just like to watch other people’s process. It’s one thing to see it on the ground and awe at it, and it’s another thing to talk to the artist, sit there, look at the material I’m using, and just kind of take it all in,” said Walker.
Her mural has helped draw people in to “The Garden” by the Expo Center to learn about healthier lifestyles.
