Chick-fil-A to open new South Bay location this week
(KRON) — Chick-fil-A is opening a new location in the South Bay this week, the company said. A restaurant in Gilroy is set to open on Thursday, Aug. 22.
It is located at 7060 Chestnut St. in the Plaza Allium shopping center.
SF-based Super Duper Burgers plans to open new location in city
The Gilroy restaurant will be the popular Georgia-based fast-food chain’s 26th Bay Area location. It is the first location in the South Bay city.
Before the opening of the Gilroy restaurant, the next closest Chick-fil-A was either in San Jose or Salinas.
According to Chick-fil-A, the Gilroy location will employ about 130 full and part-time employees.

Earlier this month, Chick-fil-A opened a restaurant in San Mateo. Another Chick-fil-A is set to open in Concord, although there is no set opening date. The company’s website says it is “coming soon.”
