Chuckles Comedy House in Memphis closes after more than a decade in business

Chuckles Comedy House announced Sunday that it has closed after more than a decade in business. The announcement came via the club’s Facebook page.

Attempts to reach Chuckles for comment were unsuccessful.

The comedy club, located at 1770 Dexter Springs Loop in Cordova, had previously canceled all its August shows.

Chuckles Comedy Club’s website for both its Memphis and Jackson, Mississippi, locations are no longer active.

Chuckles opened in 2014 and has hosted several notable comedians including D.L Hughley, Eddie Griffin and Bill Bellamy.

The comedy club’s abrupt closure has led to a GoFundMe crowdfunding page looking to raise $450,000 to keep the entertainment venue open.
