Cleveland Hopkins International Airport loses power in Tuesday storms

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Powerful storms on Tuesday knocked out power at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, officials confirmed to FOX 8 News.

“The airfield was temporarily closed while we cleared debris but has since reopened,” spokesperson Michele Dynia told FOX 8 News.

Power was restored not long after 6 p.m., officials said.

Dynia did not say whether flights or planes had been affected by the outage. Information on a flight’s status can be found on the airport’s website.

Tornado Warning expired for Northeast Ohio

Tornado warnings were issued Tuesday in several Northeast Ohio counties, including Cuyahoga, Lorain, Geauga, Portage, Trumbull and Mahoning.
