Columnist called JD Vance the worst VP pick EVER. He is 1,000 percent correct.
President JD Vance would be the nightmare
In his Sept. 4 column "Vance is the Worst VP Candidate Ever," Rex Huppke nicely summed up JD Vance's cringe-worthy views on women. Just as important, however, are Vance's views on governing, which may be even more authoritarian than former President Donald Trump's.
None of these facts are trivial when considering that, should Trump win in November, Vance would be next in line to replace a mentally diminished president whose physical health remains suspect.

Vance is not the worst
The Dispatch posed the question “Is Rex Huppke right about former Columbus resident JD Vance (being the worst VP pick ever)?”
Let me reply with the following list of vice presidential picks.
Richard Nixon, aka “Tricky Dick,” who would later resign as president due to the Watergate scandal.
Rex Huppke JD Vance takes 'Worst VP pick EVER!' crown from Sarah Palin, and gets less likable every day
Lyndon Baines Johnson, who would later as president send over 500,000 American troops to Vietnam with over 50,000 dead, and who was, and continues to be, mentioned as possibly connected to the assignation of President John F. Kennedy.
Spiro Agnew resigned due to bribery and extortion charges.
Thomas Eagleton, picked by George McGovern, lasted two weeks as vice presidential candidate before being replaced due to depression. He later received a diagnosis of bipolar II.
If you think talking about cat ladies is bad, how about John Kerry’s pick of John Edwards, whose wife had Stage 4 breast cancer while John was fathering a child with a staffer.
I just don’t see how this Huppke guy can be so ignorant of the past.
And just to balance Huppke’s hit piece on Vance, Tim Waltz apparently has a stolen valor problem and a DUI in his past.

JD is obsessed
Rex Huppke’s assessment of Senator JD Vance’s character is not wrong. What most puzzles me is JD's obsession with people’s parental status.
My never-married childless — and catless — aunt had a wonderful career as dietician for a food company. She traveled the world, bringing back gifts for me and my brothers. If she was miserable, she hid it well.
Two other childless adults played a major role in my childhood. They were an older cousin and his wife. Whether childless by circumstance or choice I never knew. I do know they spent many wonderful hours with me and loved me as if I were their own child.
I find it particularly ironic that JD has apparently embraced the Catholic faith but doesn’t seem aware that the entire Catholic system is based on the work of unmarried priests and nuns who take vows of celibacy.
I suspect Sigmund Freud would have a great time analyzing JD's obsession with other people’s reproductive choices and circumstances.
It’s a great distraction from other issues like climate crisis, income inequality, a broken immigration system, and a prison system in desperate need of reform.
