Commercial flight lands safely in Denver after wheel falls off during takeoff

DENVER (KDVR) — A commercial airplane landed safely at Denver International Airport after losing a wheel during takeoff, a spokesperson confirmed.

According to officials, a wheel fell off when United Flight 1001 was taking off from the Los Angeles International Airport on Monday.

A spokesperson for United Airlines told FOX31 that the wheel was found at the Los Angeles airport, and officials are investigating what caused the incident.

The plane, a Boeing 757-200, was carrying 174 passengers and 7 crew members, according to United Airlines.

No one was injured on the aircraft or the ground.
