HAGERSTOWN, Md. (DC News Now) — Folks around the region are marking the official end of summer with a trip to the pool.

In Washington County, the pool staff at The Martin Snook Recreation Park is winding down.

“It’s always nice to see everyone having a good time in the pool that we take care of and care about a lot,” Sadie Leisinger, assistant manager at the Snook Park pool, said. “It is nice to have all the guards here one last day because they’ve all become my close friends too.”

While the pool staff is sorry to see the season end, they look forward to the annual “pooch plunge” this Friday evening where dogs in the community get a few hours of the pool to themselves as a kickoff for the fall and winter break.
