According to the show's synopsis, the ship will be "touring everyone's favourite Mediterranean holiday hotspots" and will be "bubbling with intrigue, rivalries, glamour, money and class divides".
However, it isn't long before new cabaret singer Jack Grayling, played by Ward, finds himself calling on his skills as a former detective.
After a passenger is found murdered, Jack joins forces with newly promoted First Officer Kate Woods, played by Tyldesley, and the pair are soon faced with a wave of murder mysteries, each set against the backdrop of a different stunning coastal location.

When the drama was announced last autumn, Ward said: "Getting to work alongside my good friend Catherine again has been magical, and all while cruising around the Mediterranean... heaven. I can't wait for everyone to meet Jack Grayling and his unlikely team and get onboard The Good Ship Murder."
Tyldesley added: "I've loved taking on the role of Kate and keeping Jack in his place at sea. Being reunited with Shayne on a Mediterranean cruise has been so much fun. This series has been a joy to make and I'm sure will be a joy to watch – who doesn't love a cruise?"
Corrie newcomer Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie Plummer, is also among the cast, starring as cruise ship worker Beverley.

Aidan and Eva's Corrie relationship was far from plain sailing after they got together in 2016. Although their romance got off to a happy start, Aidan soon embarked on an affair with the couple's friend, Maria Connor.
Aidan later reluctantly accepted Eva's marriage proposal, before Eva found out about the affair and started secretly scheming against Aidan, pretending to be pregnant and spending huge amounts of his money.
Eva's lies were exposed on her and Aidan's wedding day by an angry Maria, leading to a fight between the pair. Although Aidan and Eva gave their relationship another go, the romance eventually failed.
After Aidan sadly took his own life, Eva left for France to raise her and Aidan's baby daughter, Susie, who was conceived shortly before the couple split.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
